Family Festival Benefit- Children's Museum of East End- Loaded with Celebs Helping the Cause
***MEDIA ALERT*** MEDIA ALERT *** MEDIA ALERT ***
CHILDREN’S MUSEUM OF THE EAST END HOLDS
FAMILY FESTIVAL BENEFIT ON JULY 23
CO-CHAIRED BY LAW AND ORDER’S SVU’S MARISKA HARGITAY,
ACTRESS AND COMEDIAN ALI WENTWORTH AND TV HOST KATIE BROWN
WHAT: The Children’s Museum of the East End’s Benefit
The East End’s most visited museum, the Children’s Museum of the East End is holding their annual benefit, the CMEE Family Fair to raise $200,000. However, this is not a typical Hamptons Gala affair. Dress code suggests size 3T, fare will include hot dogs and cotton candy and entertainment is the circus clowns and balloonists. That does not mean to imply that CMEE’s benefit is child’s play. In fact, last year the CMEE Family Fair saw record attendance of almost 800 guests and this year, the museum is planning for a sold-out audience of between 950 and 1000 guests, and will feature performers from the Big Apple Circus.
WHO: Co-Chairs, Mariska Hargitay, Ali Wentworth and Katie Brown. Additional guests include: Liev Schreiber, Naomi Watts, and their two children, The Sopranos and Nurse Jackie’s Edie Falco and her family, Law and Order’s Elizabeth Rohm, ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos, Actor Peter Hermann, celebrated photographer and show host Tamara Lackey, as well as Senator Kenneth P. Lavalle. Additional names forthcoming.
WHEN: Saturday, July 23, 2011
9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
* Please note: Media coverage opportunities available throughout the event, but interviews should be pre-arranged through the Benson Consulting Agency.
WHERE: Children Museum of the East End
376 Bridgehampton/Sag Harbour Turnpike, Bridgehampton, NY

ABOUT THE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM OF THE EAST END
Since opening their doors five years ago, the Children’s Museum of the East End offers 7,000 square feet of interactive space and community wide partnerships that promote learning through play. From their unique Family Literacy Program to their Pre-school and their family therapy and job-training programs, CMEE has developed a mission of community outreach and development.
At the same time, CMEE continues to partner with mainstream programs such as Gymboree and Moonsoup to bring their programs to the East End of Long Island for both members and area visitors. CMEE’s permanent exhibits include an ode to the East End, offering children the chance to shop at a farmer’s market, sail on the high seas and check-out Main Street, all while gaining math, literacy and social science skills. SSHHH…we won’t tell the kids if you won’t!
While CMEE offers unparalleled children’s programing all summer long for the Hamptons Seasonal visitors, the heart of the museum has become their year-round involvement with the East End community and the opportunities they are providing to Long Island families.
